03 – ENTRY, VISA & DOCUMENTS

Russia’s unified electronic visa is available to citizens of a published list of countries. The official Russian

e-visa portal currently lists 64 eligible nationalities, including China, Japan, Finland, Sweden, Denmark,

Norway and many European and Asian countries. Eligibility can change, so check the official portal for

the passport you will use.

U.S. government guidance reports that major Western-issued Visa and Mastercard cards do not operate

Saint Petersburg

Saint Petersburg combines metro and surface transport with river-and-canal sightseeing boats. The

Intercity

Use rail for Moscow – Saint Petersburg when schedules and availability make it suitable.

Domestic flights are useful for Lake Baikal and Siberian destinations.

For Lake Baikal, transfer time can be substantial; build a full travel day around Irkutsk and lake-side

destinations.
